Free Rural Kawartha Lakes Winter Library Programs

Kawartha Lakes Library Services Offers Free Winter Fun! 

Kawartha Lakes Mums: Libraries within the City of Kawartha Lakes offer a variety of programs for boys and girls of all ages.  All programs are free! Library programs play a key role in bringing books and children together and in the development of language and reading skills. Here is a list of the programs at City of Kawartha Lakes library branches.
Craft & Storytime is a popular program at many of the Branch Libraries.  These programs feature themed stories and crafts for boys and girls of all agesPrograms are held once a month at the following library branches.

Preschool Storytime, featuring stories, songs and crafts, is held at the following branch locations:
Bethany (705 277-2321) - Thursdays at 11:15 am (weekly)
Cambray (705 374-4900) - Wednesdays at 11 am (monthly)

Kawartha Lakes LibrariesAfter School and Evening Programs

A selection of after school and evening programs are also presented by library staff.  Join the fun with friends and family for the following events.

The "Scrapbooking Club" at the Carden Library (705 833-2845) meets once a month.  Call the library for dates and times.
The "Young Writers Group" at the Fenelon Falls Library (705 887-6300) meets every other Thursday at 6 pm. beginning January 3.
After school events include:
  • "Wise Guys & Gals Homework Club" – Bethany Library (705 277-2321)
  • "After School Club" – Burnt River Library (705 454-9649)
  • "Creative Crafters" and "Homework Helpers" at the Kirkfield Library (705 438-3331)
  • "Drop In Crafts" – Little Britain Library (705 786-2088)
  • "Stories & Craft" – Norland Library (705 454-8552)
  • "Crafts & Stories with Robbin" – Oakwood Library (705 953-9060)

Our Read to the Dogs program is expanding with our St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs. 
  • Dunsford Library (705 793-3037) Saturday, Jan. 19, other dates TBA
  • Fenelon Falls (705 887-6300) Saturdays – Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 30.
  • Little Britain Library (705 786-2088) Saturdays – Jan. 12, Feb. 9 & March 9. 
Other programs include "Super Saturday Board Games" at the Bethany Library (705 277-2321), Drop in Crafts at the Bobcaygeon Library (705 738-2088) and "Expanding the World of Literacy" at the Kinmount Library (705 488-3199).
