July 14 Lindsay 8th Annual Classics on Kent Register Now!!

Lindsay Kawartha Lakes Classics on Kent -Register Online Now!

Classics on Kent, Lindsay, one of the largest car shows in Ontario gets bigger each year.
Classics on Kent committee is busy planning this year's event for Sunday, July 14, 2013 and have posted that you can register online now. Here are some highlights from last year's Classics on Kent:

Over 1000 Vehicles Fill Lindsay Downtown Core

Sunday, July 15th, 2012 antique and collector cars, muscle cars, custom cars and trucks from across Ontario rolled into downtown Lindsay on for the Annual Classics on Kent Downtown Car Show. Thousands of people filled Kent Street all day, where over 600 cars lined every street in downtown Lindsay.

In addition, the 2nd Annual Motorcycle Show filled Victoria Avenue South and Brits in the Park also had cars on display in Victoria Park, making about 1000 vehicles filling the downtown corridors.

Lindsay: Over 70 Classic Vehicle Prizes Awarded

Over 70 prizes were given away to car registrants and the event was completed with a trophy, awards and prize presentation at 3pm. Trophy presentations included:
  • A and W Sponsors Choice: Dan Jones from Bobcaygeon, owner of a 1965 Chevy Impala, 
  • Lindsay District Chamber of Commerce Sponsors Choice: Carl and Judy Madill from Brooklyn, ON owner of a 1957 Chevy Pickup, 
  • Lindsay Post Sponsors Choice: Richardo Darmanie from Bowmanville, owner of a 1951 Pontiac Chieftan. 
  • Lindsay Downtown BIA Sponsors Choice winner was a 1966 Corvette, owned by Jeff Dickinson from Peterborough. 
  • Everyday Specialities Memorial Award was presented in memory of Rick Broomer, in the spirit of avid car collectors who are no longer with us. The winner was presented with their trophy by Cody Toms, Rick Broomer's grandson. Matt Punter from Lakefield, owner of a 1966 Dodge Dart claimed this trophy. 
  • Driver's Choice award, sponsored by Reeds Vintage Auto Insurance, was presented to Dave Short from Wasaga Beach, owner of a 1970 Road Runner. 
Prizes included in the presentations were a grand prize of an autographed Jason Spezza jersey and print valued at $300 from OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs, plus an evening out in Lindsay, sponsored by the Academy Theatre and Olympia Restaurant. With hundreds of car owners from across the province in attendance, it was a tremendous success. Visit the Classics on Kent Website for more information.
