Kawartha Lakes Ill Young Adults 17-25 Receive  Support!

Trish's Wish a registered non-profit Kawartha Lakes organization, provides support and financial assistance, to families residing in Kawartha Lakes, that are in crisis as a result of a serious illness or injury to a family member who is between the ages of 17 and 25.

Their mission is to actively seek support and participation of the community in all their activities and to treat recipients and their families with respect and dignity, while recognizing their rights to privacy and confidentiality.

Trish's Wish was founded in memory of Trish Peters of Little Britain who lost her valiant struggle with cancer in 2004. Today, thanks to volunteer support and fundraising efforts, 28 families have been given $200,000 since 2004. Support ranges from wheelchairs, modified beds and assistance equipment to medications and procedures that aren't covered by health insurance. Financial support is also available for families to cover hospital expenses, parking, food and other costs incurred from traveling for medical treatment.
