Kawartha Lakes Mums - North Country Gospel Choir Welcomes ALL!

The ability to read music is an asset, but not required either. Tonight North Country Gospel Choir will be singing at the Lindsay Christian Reformed Church at 7pm
As far as we know, this is the only choir in Ontario that sings primarily Southern Gospel music. This style of music is usually found in the Southern States such as Tennessee and Georgia. It has a style that is very different to what most of us are used to hearing and singing. It is a Christian choir with people from all denominations, ages, walks of life and musical abilities. They do not turn anyone away that has a passion for singing. You do not have to read music, but you do have to carry a tune. There is no age restriction. The choir practices every Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Presently, there are about 45 members in the choir. The choir is always open for new members to join. New members are usually received in January and September. The mandate of the choir is to sing, sing, and sing praise of God. The choir loves to sing and it shows in the dedication to their music and the smiles on their faces when they sing.
Since the choir started 7 years ago, they have performed in Churches, Fairs, Art Festivals and various other venues in the area. This year the choir happy to say they will be singing in over 15 concerts!
Choir practices every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Lindsay at 240 Mary Street West. The choir is grateful for the space that Caressant Care has provided them. Every Tuesday night, one can expect a large following of residents to come out and listen and sometimes even dance to the sound of the North Country Gospel Choir as they practice.
