FENELON FALLS, ON – March 25, 2014  'Films By the Falls' first season opens with Oscar winning documentary- 20 Feet From Stardom, at Fenelon Falls High School.

This 2014 Critics’ Choice Winner for Best Documentary and 2014 Academy Award Winning Best Documentary by director Morgan Neville tells the lesser-known stories of the backup singers for some of the most well known musical acts of our time. Featuring Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder and Bette Midler. Advance tickets for 20 Feet From Stardom are on sale at select locations in Fenelon Falls.

Films by The Falls is a presentation of The Kawartha Lakes Film Circuit.The inaugural mini-season opens March 25th, 2014, with two additional movie screenings on April 29th and May 27th. All screenings will take place in the auditorium of the Fenelon Falls Secondary School in downtown Fenelon Falls.

“We are thrilled to announce our opening night details,” says Kathryn Rogers, Chair of Kawartha Lakes Film Circuit, “it’s been a lot of work and we can’t wait to share the movie experience with our fellow movie fans. The wonderful support we have received from the Fenelon Falls community has been outstanding and without it this would not have been possible.”

 A limited number of rush tickets will be available at the door on the day of the screening. The film will be screened in the auditorium of Fenelon Falls Secondary School, 61 Lindsay St. Doors open at 6:30 pm; show commences at 7:30 pm. Cost is $10 per person, taxes included.
