Salmonella ! Trader Joes and MaraNatha Nut Butters Huge Recall List!

August 21, 2014 -  Salmonella! A food recall warning issued on August 19, 2014 has been amended to correctly identify the affected codes for the MaraNatha brand almond butter and peanut butter products. This is a huge recall list. See the details in the related links section below.
The food  industry is recalling MaraNatha and Trader Joe's brands of almond butters and peanut butters from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall was triggered by a recall in another country, and may be extended again to more products, so to be on the safe side, our family is going to stop eating this brand for a while until an all clear is given. What about you?

Salmonella contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhoea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
There are over 30 product codes involved in this Salmonella recall warning. Check to see if you have any of the recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
