Kawartha Lakes Events : November 15 - 22 Crafts -Winter Preparations Highlighted in Library Events

Kawartha Lakes Mums  Readers - Winter Preparations Crafts - What Do You Suggest?

November 15 to 22, numerous Kawartha Libraries will feature crafts focussed on getting ready for winter, very appropriate considering the sprinkling of snow we've received already. We searched for some winter preparation craft ideas, and books you might like to check out.

Glad you asked!
Animals prepare for winter months by eating lots of food, storing food, changing colour for camouflage, flying south, or hibernating. Families prepare for winter by getting winter clothes, and tools ready. While for most people in City of Kawartha Lakes, winter preparations are second nature, imagine how it would be for a family who had lived all their lives in countries where they don't get snow.

Getting Ready for Winter Books

One of my favourite children's authors is Jan Brett who has created two charming winter-themed books involving animals: The Mitten and The Hat. Are you familiar with Jan Brett's Books? Either of these books would be a lovely present along with hand knit mittens or socks. Making these presents even ore magical.
