Kawartha Lakes students in grades 3 to 8 can enjoy DJ dances at the Lindsay Boys and Girls Clubs one Friday night each month. Tween Friendship Crafts
Going to dances is a great way to make new friends. Here are a few crafts your tween might enjoy making to foster those new friendships.

Dachshund Autograph Hound
One fun craft item to take along is a Dachshund Autograph Hound. Dachshund autograph hounds were a popular tween craft in the 1950's.

This beginner level sewing project could be made from an old white pillow case, and stuffed with clean odd white socks. Take along a washable marker and your autograph hound to collect names and autographs of new friends. Later at home, you can either toss your dog in the washing machine, or make the signatures permanent with permanent marker or embroidery. A word from the wise - DO NOT give a stranger a permanent marker and your dachshund!

Lindsay Boys and Girls Club DJ Dance Dates
Lindsay Boys and Girls Club tween DJ dances for grades 3 to 8 are held monthly on Friday Nights from 6:30- 9:30 PM at the Lindsay Boys and Girls Club Lindsay Street South.Tickets are $6 for Members $7/Non Members. Extended after school care is available on Friday dance nights from 6 to 6:30pm for $5 per child and must be registered in advance. Dance Dates for the remainder of the year will be:

- April 24, 2015
- May 29, 2015
- June 19, 2015
