Thank You Nurses for #EveryStep May 11 - 17 National Nursing Week!

Kawartha Lakes Mums - Thanking Nurses for Being With Us Every Step!

May 11-17 is National Nursing Week, alongside International Nurses Day and Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12. Over the past two years our family ha had the support of a wide variety of nurses in various contexts. To imagine trying to navigate towards health without nurses is practically impossible, yet in many countries people are not blessed to have the excellent care our nurses provide.

This year’s Canadian Nurses Association theme, Nurses: With you every step of the way, emphasizes how important nurses are in our lives — at every age, in all health situations, for all Canadians. This post has some nursing freebies and ideas for ways you can say thank you to nurses in your life.
How will you be saying thank you to nurses this week?

How Can We Thank Nurses on National Nursing Week?

Nurses work long 12-hour shifts at Ross Memorial Hospital to ensure the best possible seamless patient care.

Nurses travel miles through snow and sleet to homes along Kawartha Lakes backroads to homes to ensure patients can get essential services.
Nurses see things that would give Stephen King nightmares.
Nurses walk miles each day heading calls for help from every corner.
Nurses see problems in systems, and advocate on patients' behalf for better healthcare solutions.
After a very long day, nurses then go home to care for their own families.

Happy National Nurses Week!

What about a gift to go with the card? Since Nurses work long hours perhaps some home made goodies might make a welcome treat.
