Kawartha Lakes Kids Issue Safety Advisory!
Two grade 6 students, chosen from over 100 entries,Junior Fire Chief for a Day in Kawartha Lakes. Their selection was based on a 50 word essay on the importance of having Two Ways Out of every room in a fire emergency. Appriately,the two Junior Chiefs for a Day issued the following Safety advisory.:The Junior Fire Chiefs for a Day would like to tell everyone to practice their escape plan with the family and have a safe, familiar, meeting place outside the home for everyone to assemble.
They would also like to remind the public to have working smoke alarms on every level of the home, to check them monthly to ensure they are working, and replace batteries at least once a year
Junior Fire Chiefs for the Day for 2012 were:
Amber King – Bobcaygeon Public School
Jack Allaire – Pope John Paul II Catholic School
