'I am pleased to join with other businesses in helping  Durham Deaf Services with their dinner by providing fresh greens for salads.'shared Jill, adding 'DDS helps many deaf and hard of hearing people in Durham and surrounding communities.  Providing salad for their special dinner is a very small contribution to a very active hands-on area service, run mostly by volunteers.  I hope their dinner is a spectacular success, creating bigger public awareness of services available through them.

Durham Deaf Services is celebrating their 30^th anniversary June 14, 2012 at Life Point Church in Oshawa  from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. DDS,a registered charity, offers educational programs and services including literacy, employment and computer training to the Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing community in Durham Region. Their aim is to promote self-reliance and reduce isolation As a not-for-profit, they are hoping to raise much needed funds for their work, and welcome contributions towards their dinner.

Kawartha Lakes Mums Lindsay Airport will host the first annual Kawartha Klassics Sunday June 10th from 9 to 5 at 3897 Highway 35 North of Thunder Bridge Road. What a great opportunity to see antique planes and automobiles together!

Jim Heineman Dream Band featuring top Juno award winning Jazz musicians will Swing locals into spring tonite at The Ranch Resort in the Rolling Hills of Bethany, Ontario.

Jim Heineman Dream Band single Rh positive was the only Canadian Jazz single nominated for an award in the prestigious Independent Music Awards.

Jim Heineman Dream Band, which is half women, features the talents of Juno award winners Jim Heineman on Sax, flute and vocals and Brandi Disterheft on Bass, as well as Mark Hundevad on drums/vibraphone, Sam Heineman on piano/drums and Bethany's own Lucya Almeida on percussion.

Jazz percussionist Lucya Almeida, Jewelry designer and owner of Omemee Rocks, has a busy day today, as she is also part of the Rolling Hills Studio Tour this weekend at her Omemee Rocksdesign studio at 36 King Street East Omemee.
