Canadian Childcare Shouldn't Be a Matter of Luck! Martha Friendly, the 2015 Margaret Laurence Lecture Speaker at Trent University, pointed out that Canada is not a good place for parents to raise children, because obtaining quality childcare is a matter of luck.

Unfortunately, Canada is not providing an on-ramp, so many mothers are stuck in a rut of poverty unless they are "lucky" to obtain good childcare.Ms. Friendly proposes our economy would be much improved if there were equal access to quality childcare.
