Karlesen Plumbing Saves The Day!

from St. Dave's Diner Lindsay
Just wanted to say "Thanks!" to Dick and the boys at Karelsen Plumbing. They always provide great service, and today was no exception.
I was in downtown Toronto when a plumbing situtation arose at the Diner, the kitchen staff called Karelsen's and, as one staff member put it "they practically walked though the door to fix it before we hung up the phone". Kudos to them!
What are you thankful for? Email your notes of thanks to http://scr.im/klmums

OPP Public Safety Balancing Act - High Speed Chase Halted!

Kawartha Lakes Mums- Do you sometimes wonder why police stop pursuing a vehicle? OPP recently needed to make a difficult choice again , to stop perusing a vehicle for public safety reasons. In some SciFi movies we sometimes see police having remote access to vehicle ignition. If such an innovation were to be mandatory in vehicles, do you think it would make a difference?

OPP STOP PURSUIT FOR PUBLIC SAFETY

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a residential break in that led to a vehicle pursuit.

On May 24, 2012 officers from the OPP attempted to stop a vehicle that had been involved in a residential break in earlier in the day. The vehicle was west bound on Potts Shore Road, within the City of Kawartha Lakes, when the OPP attempted to stop it.

The officers activated the vehicles emergency lights but the suspect vehicle failed to stop for police. The suspect vehicle continued north bound on Highway 35 and a pursuit ensued.
