October 15th Kinmount Lions Club, The Friends of Haliburton-Bancroft Midwives and The PAIL Network will be hosting a special candle lighting  in support of families who have experienced the loss of a child during pregnancy or shortly after birth.

Ontario farm-raised, now based in the Yukon this teacher turned singer has been on a world tour with his new release - a bluesy-folk mix.
Songs range from Somebody's Kid - written while waiting to hear if his wife was safe at the Boston Marathon bombing, to inspiring - Wheel Girl - about a collision victim who became a top wheelchair athlete , to a song in which he urges other fathers not to be deadbeat dads.

May 2 2014 Kinmount Highlands Cinemas reopened despite the piles of snow they had to shovel off the roof. This is a partial re-opening, and they hope to be fully re-opened by the end of May.
