Thank you for sharing this recipe. It looks like a must try. Great for both family and entertaining!
ReplyDeleteGreat Question TC!
ReplyDeleteThe original recipe with regular Sour cream is 40 cal/ 2 Tbsp serving.
This can be greatly altered by substituting lower fat Sour Cream
- Reg Sour Cream 31 cal/ Tbsp
- Reduced Fat 29 cal/Tbsp
- Fat Free 12 cal / Tbsp
If you want to add a little zip with Kraft Miracle Whip, you might substitute no more than 1/8 of the Sour Cream for calorie reduction too.
-Fat Free Kraft Miracle Whip has 15 cal/ Tbsp
Be sure to check the refried bean calories as they can also vary greatly by brand.
Thanks Ruth,

ReplyDeleteYes, having a recipe that is quick and easy for kids to make, but a crowd pleaser too is a must for our recipe box.
When kids can put together and present a dish they made all by themselves for company, it does wonders for self-esteem.
We attend quite a few potlucks, and this recipe is very portable as well.
