2013 Lindsay Lilac Festival

Lindsay Lilac Gardens Blooming Family Fun! 

 Lindsay Lilac Gardens will bloom with activity the for two weekends with their 13th annual free Open House Festival.

Bloomin' Family Fun! 
The festival, formerly known as the Lindsay Lilac Festival, runs Saturday, May 25, Sunday, May 26, Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2 2013. The Lindsay Lilac gardens are located on Logie Street, just off Lindsay Street South.Throughout the festival, there will be daily guided tours of the gardens teaching how to plant, prune and take care of lilacs, as well as special guest speakers and entertainment. Check out this great selection of entertainment being offered at the festival.

Lindsay Lilac Gardens Festival Saturday, May 25

  • 11 a.m. to noon - 'Get-A-Head Carvings' chain saw demonstrations and jewelry from nature 
  • 12 to 1:30 p.m. - Opening ceremony and lilac presentation 
  • 1 to 2 p.m. - 'Get-a-Head Carvings'
  • 2 to 3 p.m. - Speaker Heather Grassie will speak on "Callas and Favourite Tools" and a demonstration from the local Taoist Tai Chi group. 

Lindsay Lilac Gardens Festival Sunday, May 26

  • 10:15 a.m. - Plant a Row, Grow A Row group demonstration (with freebies) 
  • 11 to 11:30 - Children's entertainer Bibbo the Clown 
  • noon to 1 p.m. - Speaker Vicki Taylor-Scott 
  • 1 to 2 p.m. - 'Rhythmicity' drum circle 

Lindsay Lilac Gardens Festival Saturday, June 1

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - International Trails Day, attendees are encouraged to wear purple and come bike, walk, jog, run, or even fly a kite on the local trails 
  • 11 to 11:30 a.m. - Bibbo the Clown 
  • 1 to 2 p.m. - Speaker Jill Cockerell - Chartered Herbalist on 'Discovering the use of Herbs.'

Lindsay Lilac Gardens Festival Sunday, June 2

  • 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Meredith of Big Event will be performing hand-tied bouquet demonstrations
