Kawartha Lakes Mums - Will You Walk For Kawartha North Walk-In Clinic? 

Saturday, June 14th Kawartha Lakes "Bigley's Walk for the Cause" supports the after-hours walk-in clinic operated in Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls by Kawartha North Family Health Team aka KNFHT. Did you know The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care provides no funding for the cost that would be required to operate the KNFHT's walk-in clinic on an full-time basis?
Yup! It's left to the generosity of the community to make these walk-in clinic extended hours a reality. Help Kawartha North Family Health Team help keep this important service open more hours - every $100 lets the clinic operate for one hour!

Support Kawartha Lakes Walk-In Clinics

Did you know the KNFHT's walk-in clinic is open to all members of the community and visitors to our area? Kawartha North Family Health Team Walk - In  Clinics are an important asset in supporting the health care of residents, who would otherwise face a lengthy drive to Lindsay or Minden in darkness or uncertain weather when urgent medical needs arise after hours. It's also an invaluable service in a local economy so dependent on tourism.

Bigley's Walk- In Clinic Walk How Can You Participate? 

There are many ways you can participate and show your support for exceptional health care in our community.

• Register to Walk – You can register in person at Bigley's or visit their website. A minimum donation of $25 is requested to participate  or $10 if you are 14 or under. 
• Sponsor a Walker – Participants are encouraged to enlist pledges from friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances. Pick one up at Bigley's or download it online from the "Walk for the Cause" page on their website. 

Will you help support this cause?  The fourth annual walk will take place rain or shine on the Saturday, June 14 to coincide with "Unlock the Summer" events. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Bigley parking lot, followed by a fun stretch warm-up and the 5km walk happening at 10:30 a.m.

About the Kawartha North Family Health Team Walk-in Clinic 

Led by Nurse Practitioner Amy Pruett, 2013 marked the second year for the KNFHT walk-in clinic. Kawartha North Family Health Team Walk-In Clinic is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 100 East St. S. in Bobcaygeon, the clinic provides urgent care to over 2,000 patients a year. 2014 marked the addition of a clinic in Fenelon Falls on Friday mornings 9-noon at Pharmasave. With such high demand for this service, the KNFHT has set a goal to expand care to four nights per week and Saturdays.  Would you like to be able to use this service?
