Kawartha Lakes Truth and Reconciliation Presentation July 5 2016!

 Kawartha Lakes Bobcaygeon Truth and Reconciliation chapter will host a free movie evening in the Murphy Barn, Kawartha Lakes Settlers Village, Dunn Road, Bobcaygeon on July 5, 2016,
This is a wonderful opportunity for to learn more about the history of our area.

Honouring First Nations. The story of the Michi Saagiig, The Mississauga of Curve Lake First Nation on Tuesday, July 5th at the Murphy Barn, Settlers Village, Dunn Rd., Bobcaygeon. Free admission. About Oshkigmong: A Place Where I Belong

Oshkigmong: A Place Where I Belong video is available for purchase through Curve Lake First Nation. The cost is $10 each (no HST please). This documentary looks at the unique history of the michi saagig (Mississauga) of Curve Lake First Nation (oshkiigamoong).
It highlights the proud history through the treaty process and residual impacts of the 1923 Williams Treaties up to the current day. E-mail Melissa Dokis, and their finance department will process payments. Cheques can be made to Curve Lake First Nation. Running time is 32 minutes. All proceeds from the video will go to development of additional videos to preserve Curve Lake history and culture.
