Warning! Children's Highchair Belt Unreliable!
Following reports of minor injuries when the highchair Safety Belt found on the ANTILOP, IKEA along with Health Canada, and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) have issued a recall of the belt.Ikea is aware of eight reports of belts opening, including three resulting in minor injury when a child fell from the high chair. Countries reporting incidents are the United States (5), Sweden (2) and Japan (1). However,Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these highchair belts manufactured in China
ANTILOP high chairs were quite popular selling for about $20 in Canada and the USA. From July 2006 to November 2009 in Canada approximately 36,000 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada; and 133,000 units were sold in in the United States.from August 2006 through January 2010. Consumer need to check their ANTILOP children's high chair to see if it has a production date between 0607and 0911 (YYMM) and supplier number 17389 molded into the underside of the seat. According to the USA recall,there may also be a label affixed to the underside of the seat with the words"ANTILOP," "IKEA" and one of the following model numbers:
- ANTILOP high chair blue Model # 701.467.92
- ANTILOP high chair red Model # 501.467.93
- ANTILOP high chair white Model # 300.697.24
