Burnt River Historical Flooding

Apparently, Burnt River has a long history of flooding, something that was highlighted last year in an appeal from Black Bear Estates who were trying to get permission for a zoning change for several lots to become residential. According to the decision document Burnt River floods at least every 8 years.

  1. I was surprised to see a reader from Peterborough , Ontario was brought to Kawartha Lakes Mums through this post about Kawartha Lakes Flooding.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the photo recently posted by a Peterborough radio station of a man portaging a canoe through downtown Peterborough?
    What do you think?
