Saturday April 20: Lindsay Public Library 10:30 am. Scott Jowett, local Plant a Row, Grow a Row coordinator will explain and answer questions about the Grow a Row initiative.at two meetings presented by City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library, Saturday April 20 in Lindsay, and Saturday April 27 at Kirkfield Public Library. Both programs will begin at 10:30 am. Joining Scott will be representatives from local food banks and the Health unit. Will you use your garden to help end hunger?
Lindsay Gardening Session Features Community Garden Tips
Saturday, April 20 Master Gardener Jamie Morris, member of the Lindsay & District Master Gardeners and Communications Officer for the Lindsay Community Garden will also join Scott to explain how community members can acquire plots at the community garden and describe the food donation the community garden has been doing. Jamie will be available to answer questions about the community garden and about vegetable gardening.April 20 Roberta Sommerville from the Kawartha Lakes Food Source will also join the panel to share how KLFS collects and distributes food to organizations throughout Kawartha Lakes.
Megan Stong from the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit will be on hand at both session to discuss nutrition, food security and the community. Be sure to save this date! Saturday April 20: Lindsay Public Library 10:30 am.
Plant a Row • Grow a Row builds on the long-standing tradition of gardeners sharing their harvest with others.
