Kawartha Lakes Library - “How to Write a Novel” Workshop for Teens
City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library is pleased to present a novel-writing workshop for teens which is designed to take participants from idea to first draft. The “How to Write a Novel” workshop, open to students age 13 to 18 years, will be held at the Lindsay Library and on Mondays from 6:15 to 7:45 pm from April 7 to May 12.
Also on Kawartha Lakes Mums:
Novels can feel like enormous projects, but this workshop, led by local author, Sara Walker, will break it down into easy steps, and over six weeks participants will get all the tools needed to complete the first draft. Each week will include an hour-long lesson and a half-hour critique session.
Sara Walker is the author of the self-published teen urban fantasy, Catching A Sorcerer. The second in the series will be released this spring. In 2008 she founded the book review website, Urban Fantasy Land, and has reviewed hundreds of novels. She has also spent countless hours over the last fifteen years in critique groups and workshops like this one.
Sara will be the featured author on Thursday, March 20 at 7 pm as part of the library’s Local Author Series. This presentation will take place in the Meeting Room of the Lindsay Library and everyone is welcome to attend.
