Saturday October 4, 2014 Kawartha Lakes welcomes you to the  12th Annual Kawartha Farmfest event.  Farmfest is an opportunity to celebrate the fall harvest by touring 16 farms, markets and attractions on this self-guided tour. Absorb the fall atmosphere as you see the vibrant colours of the autumn leaves, tour local farms, enjoy fresh-from-the-farm tastes, country shops and enjoy locally produced products.
This self-driving tour is a one day opportunity to tour farms and rural attractions and get a firsthand experience of what farmers do on their farms and why they do it. Kawartha Farmfest sites are open from 10 am to 4 pm and are designed to be interactive and entertaining for both young and old. Participants can travel to as many sites as they like throughout the day. Drop in for a quick tour, or stay for an extended visit. Directional Farmfest signs will guide visitors to the nearest site.
This year’s program will feature a variety of farms ranging from pumpkins to horses to cattle and more. New to the program this year, is Blueberryfest at Wilson’s Fresh Blueberries. The Wilsons have been building their field stock of blueberry bushes for a number of years now, and guests will be able to tour the field with over 4,000 bushes planted, in addition to their nursery stock which is available for sale. Find out how you can take home your own edible plants and provide proper care so that you can have fresh berries throughout the summer.

Admission stickers are only $5 for adults and children under 14 are free. The price includes a complimentary guide and map with a description of each location. As an incentive for early ticket sales, those purchasing their admission stickers and programs in advance will receive a discount coupon to be used at Kawartha Dairy in Lindsay or Bobcaygeon during Farmfest.

Purchase your stickers in advance through City of Kawartha Lakes Municipal Service Centres and selected Libraries (Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Dunsford), the Chambers of Commerce in Lindsay, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon, Lindsay Farmers’ Market, Bobcaygeon Farmers’ Market, Fenelon Falls Farmers’ Market and Kawartha Dairy Stores in Bobcaygeon & Lindsay. Stickers will also be available at all of the host sites on the day of the tour.
