One of Kawartha Lakes Community Care's most popular and well-known programs is expanding to give clients more options for healthy eating. In addition to noon hot meal delivery, and frozen meals, late afternoon Meals on Wheels delivery is now available in some communities. Hooray! Some Meals on Wheels clients will now be able to enjoy a hot meal at supper time. Is this a service your family could use? Kawartha Lakes Meals on Wheels Noon Deliveries

Kawartha Lakes Community Care has been delivering Meals on Wheels hot lunches and frozen meal packages for many years throughout City of Kawartha Lakes. Hot Lunch deliveries are currently available on the following days:

Burnt River/Somerville - Wednesday
Fenelon Falls - Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Lindsay and Area - Monday to Friday, inclusive
Little Britain - Monday and Wednesday

Delivery of meals, which includes soup, entree and dessert for $6 is free. Meals on Wheels is available for qualified Community Care clients. Would you qualify for Meals on Wheels? See the link in related links below.

Kawartha Lakes Meals on Wheels Supper Expansion

The Kawartha Lakes Meals on Wheels extended service is in addition to the traditional noon-hour delivery that has been available throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes for many years. Nutritious, hot meals are now also available for delivery between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Lindsay, Bethany and Janetville, excluding holidays .

"We are thrilled to add the afternoon delivery in Lindsay and to expand to Bethany and Janetville with this initiative," said Joan Skelton, Director of Community Support Services with Community Care. "We are regularly identifying ways we can reach more seniors and adults with special needs to help them live independently."

Cost for the late afternoon meals is the same as the regular noon orders: $6 -includes soup, entree and dessert, and delivery is free. Frozen meals can also be delivered anywhere throughout the city, or purchased at Community Care offices.
