Kawartha Lakes Buses Offer Free Rides December 8 - 20 Yet Many Still Unserved!
City of Kawartha Lakes is offering free bus rides in the Town of Lindsay and also on the Rural Transit from December 8 to December 20, 2014. While they are hoping free rides might help increase shopping in City of Kawartha Lakes, unfortunately routes and times of bus services lack logic and foresight, so it is doubtful free bus rides will increase bus usage over the next few weeks.FTC Disclosure: Kawartha Lakes Mums welcomes family friendly advertising including affiliate links that meet with our editorial guidelines. City of Kawartha Lakes Transit Announcement
Beginning Monday, December 8 and running until Saturday, December 20, all Lindsay Transit Routes, Limo Specialized Transit and all Rural Routes (Dial-A-Ride) in Kawartha Lakes will be free.“This is just a little thank you to our loyal ridership and the residents of Kawartha Lakes,” explained Transit Supervisor Enzo Ingribelli. “We want as many residents as possible to be able to take advantage of, and enjoy the various transit services offered here in Kawartha Lakes.”Each December, the City provides free transit services to residents as a Christmas thank you and as an opportunity to attract more people to the services offered locally.
“This is a great opportunity for our residents to take advantage of the free transit services and be able to support local businesses in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls,” explained Mayor Andy Letham. “Whether it is Lindsay Transit, Limo Specialized Transit or the Rural Route Dial-A-Ride services, the City offers residents a great opportunity to be mobile and get from place to place in Kawartha Lakes. We certainly hope area residents and visitors will take advantage of the free service leading up to the holiday season.”
