Do you enjoy stopping at farm roadside stands as much as we do? What do you like best about buying directly from farmers? For us it's the just-picked freshness!Soon the strawberries will be ready at local Upick farms, but even before the strawberries are ready, some local farms have preserves, soaps and spice mixes created on their farms and available for sale.
We especially love shopping at Franklin Farm Herbals,
Kawartha Lakes Mum Jill Cockerell, a Chartered Herbalist, offers organic fruits and vegetables, as well as a wide variety of soaps, salves, seasonings, and more at her Farmgate store.

Here is part of the bounty we picked up last sunmer from Franklin Farm Herbals Farmgate Store at the corner of Ski Hill Road, and Liffford Road.
