Everyone has a Story: Human Library event at the Lindsay Branch Library

LINDSAY - What does someone working in the tattoo industry and someone living with Alzheimer’s have in common?
They both have stories to tell about our community and they are part of this year’s Ontario Public Library Week in Kawartha Lakes.
On Saturday, October 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lindsay Gallery (upstairs in the Lindsay Library) the public is welcome to check out a Human Book as part of the Human Library event.

“A Human Library is a way for people to reach out and connect with individuals in their community that they might not come across in their daily lives,” explained Chief Librarian and CEO David Harvie. “These types of events promote tolerance, celebrate differences and encourage understanding, one conversation at a time in a safe environment.”
There will be 12 Human Book titles available with six in the morning, and six in the afternoon.
Which Human Books are participating?

  •  Anne Taylor, a Cultural Archivist for the Curve Lake First Nation,
  • Alyson Lynch, a young woman completing an internship as a Funeral Director as well as the
  • Chief of Police Chief Hagarty are among the participants.
