Lindsay Public Library Offers Free Fun Spring 2013 Events
Kawartha Lakes Mums - Have you registered your children for these fun free Lindsay Library Events?Lindsay Public Library Spring 2013 children's programming begins the week of March 18. Kawartha Lakes Children's Librarians seek creative engaging ways to instill a love of reading from a very early age. The spring 2013 Lindsay Public Library programming offers activities starting from babies and up.Have an older reluctant reader? The Read to the Dogs program or 'I the Illustrator', may be just the ticket to light the spark.
Spring 2013 Lindsay Public Library Events
Lindsay Public Library Special 2013 Spring programs for children and their families will include the following:- Cool Cat's Book Chat, a book discussion group for children age 8 years and up on Wednesday, April 3 at 4:15 pm. Share your favourite books!!
- 'I the Illustrator', an 8 week workshop for children age 8 years and up held on Mondays at 4 pm beginning April 8. Participants will write and illustrate their own picture book in this workshop led by Tina Hohenadel.
- 1-2-3 Baby's On My Knee, a program for boys and girls up to age 12 months with their parent or caregiver. This session runs on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:15 am. It's never too early to introduce your baby to the wonderful world of books and reading. Together you will discover the joy of songs, finger games, tickle rhymes, simple books and bouncing rhymes.
- Toddler Time, a program for boys and girls age 12 to 36 months with their parent or caregiver. This program is held on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am. A love of books and reading is a gift that lasts a lifetime. Share this gift with your toddler as together you explore the world of picture books, rhymes, songs, and finger games. Puppets, a variety of storytelling methods and crafts are enjoyed.
- Storytime, a program for boys and girls age 3 – 5 years, is held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:45 am. Theme-based programs include stories, songs and crafts. The children are encouraged to be a little more independent and participate in the program "on their own" with parents / caregivers close at hand.
- Family Storytime, a drop in program for the whole family, is held on Friday mornings at 10:30 am. A variety of storytelling methods including puppets, felt stories and poetry add up to fun for the whole family.
- Read to the Dogs, with St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dogs Jack and Rocky on Saturday mornings from 10:30 am – 12 noon – April 6 & 13.
