For over 25 years, Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes has provided community support services designed to assist seniors and people with special needs maintain their independence. Will you help your community too?Supported by hundreds of volunteers and a core group of staff, a range of services is provided by Community Care at minimal cost or free. Whether it’s a ride to a medical appointment, a nutritious meal, relief from caregiving, help with personal care or homemaking, or a visit from a friendly volunteer, assistance is at hand through Community Care by calling 705-324-7323.
Personally, our family and friends are extremely grateful for the services provided by volunteers through community care: from meals on Wheels to friendly visitors, homecare, and physio consultants who helped when our parents were ill, to advice on getting a wide variety of services, Community Care is an essential part of our healthcare system.
Kawartha Lakes 4 Annual Care Walk Supporting Community Care Support Services Details
The 4th Annual Care Walk in support of Community Care Support Services will be held at the Rotary Trail in Lindsay on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013. The Care Walk has grown in fundraising capacity and participation in its first three years and they are looking forward to another successful event featuring individual or team entries. The Care Walk planning committee is hard at work pledge sheets are now available for this year's event. People will also be able to use on-line pledging in support of walkers!If you are interested in participating in the Care Walk, or are able to volunteer at the event itself, please contact 705-324-7323 ext 162 to discuss details.
