The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is partnering with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to bring the free  S.T.O.P. to the City of Kawartha Lakes.
“What’s unique about S.T.O.P. is that nicotine patches are available free-of-charge to participants,” she adds. “Nicotine patches can be costly, but really improve the chances of quitting smoking. For that reason alone, it is worth finding out more about S.T.O.P.”
While spaces are still available in the S.T.O.P. Program, time is running out to sign up for the session. Local residents who are interested in attending the S.T.O.P. Program are asked to call the Health Unit at (705) 324-3569. People who call will be asked to complete an initial screening to see if they quality for the program.
