City of Kawartha Lakes villages and towns used to have daily train service. While searching for
Christmas Carols for our Christmas Carol playlist, we found a rare treasure - footage of a winter train trip from Lindsay to Gelert. This reminded us of a young friend who LOVES trains. My great-grandmother was the station mistress at the Omemee train station for many years, and my father had a soft spot for trains, having grown up listening to his grandmother's stories, and travelling by train to various places. I still remember the wonder of travelling by train with my mother and sister as a young child, and listening to the low whistle of the trains in the night.
