Maple Syrup - History

Maple Syrup is an invention of the first nations people who tapped maple trees long before any Europeans visited North America. One legend tells how maple syrup used to flow from the trees, rather than maple sap, but people loved it so much, they grew fat and lazy just laying on the ground and having it drip into their mouths, so now we need to gather maple sap and boil it down.
