Saturday April 27: Kirkfield Public Library 10:30 am. Scott Jowett, local Plant a Row, Grow a Row coordinator will explain and answer questions about the Grow a Row initiativeat two meetings presented by City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library, Saturday April 20 in Lindsay, and Saturday April 27 at Kirkfield Public Library. Both programs will begin at 10:30 am. Joining Scott will be representatives from local food banks and the Health unit. Did you know your garden could help end hunger?
Kirkfield Gardening Session Distributing Free Trees
April 27 Sandy Shad from the Woodville Christian Food Bank will join Scott to talk about how the food bank operates and the needs of the community.There will also be a question and answer session on vegetable gardening with local growers, and in celebration of Earth Week participants will receive a free tree seedling.Megan Stong from the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit will also discuss nutrition, food security and the community. Be sure to save this date! Saturday April 27: Kirkfield Public Library 10:30 am.
Plant a Row • Grow a Row builds on the long-standing tradition of gardeners sharing their harvest with others.
