23rd Kawartha Settlers Day - Olde Fashioned Family Fun!

Kawartha Settlers Day returned this morning for its 23rd year. This family fun day has something for everyone. Highlights include:

Rope making,
Fur trappers,
Carvers,
Needlework,
Weaving,
Spinning,
Rug hooking,
Tatting and lace work,
Honey display,
Vintage wedding dress display,
Quilt Registry,
Quinte Time Keepers,
Antique radios,
Historical postcard display,
Children’s activities and more!

Are you an Antique and/or classic car fan? There's even a classsic car show too!
There will be a very unique cake as well!

Kawartha Settlers Village Quilt Cake Fundaraiser

KAwartha Settlers Village is doing an Original cake quilt fundraiser!
Have you heard of a cake quilt?
PErhaps this is an idea your charity could do too!
In honour of their anniversary, they invited anyone to bring a 8″ x 8″ cake in an aluminium pan (or a pan you don’t mind parting with) with their family name iced onto it. The squares were then added with everyone else’s to make a giant quilt cake. This activity was done at one of the first Settlers’ Day and they wanted to relive a part of their 25-year history.
The cakes are being raffled off with proceeds being put towards their 25th-anniversary celebrations being held on August 23rd.
