Does the phrase"You're killin'me Smalls!" ring a bell?
If so, then you may be one of the many fab fans of The Sandlot.
The Sandlot is a coming of age comedy set in the USA in the 1960's that has developed a cult following.
A new kid in town tries to fit in by learning to play baseball.
He finally fits in when saves the day after the ball is lost over the fence to "The Beast" by bringing his step-father's ball to the game. Later, when that ball is lost over the fence to "The Beast," he finds out his step-father's ball was special - signed by Babe Ruth!

The story then takes a turn as the crew try different ways of retrieving the ball, and eventually come to know the truth about the owner of "The Beast".
The story follows two of the young players into adulthood - one who becomes an MLB player, and the other who becomes a sports reporter.
